Dr. Sultan Ahmed
Professor

Dr. Sultan Ahmed received his B.Com (Hons.) and M.Com degrees securing first class first position in both examinations from the Department of Accounting and Information Systems (AIS), University of Chittagong and his Ph. D. at University of Kalyani of India. He also worked as a post doctoral fellow at Sheffield Hallam University, England under the commonwealth fellowship program. He has a successful teaching career of 32 years. He has been teaching as a permanent faculty in the Department of AIS, CU and as an adjunct faculty in a number of reputed private Universities for a very long time. Not only that, as an academic expert, he has worked with many universities on various academic issues. Since commencement of his teaching career, Dr. Ahmed has been very active in teaching and administration of the University. Throughout his teaching career, he served at several important positions such as Chairman of the Dept. of AIS, various elected posts of CU Teachers’ Association, Provost of the Hall, member of Finance Committee, Syndicate Member (various categories) and Senate Member of CU etc. His recent administrative posts include Senate, Syndicate and Finance Committee Member of CU and Syndicate Member (Chancellor’s nominee) of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet. Beside all these, he also adorned a number of vital posts in various professional, social and non-political organizations. Dr. Ahmed has contributed numerous articles to leading national and international business journals. He has actively participated and presented papers in many seminars, workshops, etc. at home and abroad.
