There are 687 faculty members working in various departments, institutes and research centres. Most of them are highly qualified and trained with long teaching and research experiences. Among the faculty members 209 possess Ph.D., 22 have M.Phil., 61 have foreign Masters degree, while others possess local Degree Honours & Masters with outstanding performance. Some of the faculty members have gained international reputation for their research activities, creative works and professional contributions. Most of the faculty members have their own areas of research and consultancy.

It is worth to be mentioned here that Professor Dr. Mohammad Yunus, Nobel Laureate, was a Professor and Chairman of the Department of Economics, of the faculty of Social Sciences at this University. He started his pioneering work on micro-credit Project while he was a teacher of this University.
